Work Completed/Skills Learned
This week in TIK I have learned a lot of interesting things about programming. On Monday I learned about new data types in Visual Basic, such as: Long, Single, Boolean, Byte, Date and Double. On Tuesday I learned about HSscrollBar and Tracklist. I applied these new skills in developing a Temperature Converter where we enter the Temperature in Fahrenheit and converts it in to Celsius and determines the conditions with Freezing, Cold, Comfortable, Too Hot or Boiling. On Wednesday I had completed Internet Safety assignment to help me prepare for the EGAO. On Thursday and Friday I learned about strings and 16 different string functions, I completed a chart that explains me about each different function. I also developed a program, String Tutorial, that runs ten of the string functions using the ListBox.
Objec
Objectives/Future Goals/Word Remaining
My objectives for the upcoming week is to keep learning about different functions of VB. I won’t to create more programs involving certain types of variables, and I would like to start using functions and debugs more. I am also looking forward to learning more about string and different types of strings. I will try to repeat my notes every weekend so, I can do better on tests and quizzes.
Challenges Faced/How they were resolved
This week I did not run into many problems. I understood most of the information clearly, until different strings functions. I had some trouble creating string program but,
I asked my friends and with their help I completed it successfully. I also was not happy with my test mark( 69%) and I am going to try study harder next time.
